Yasuhiro Seo
Yasuhiro was previously a Partner at Spiral Ventures and managed the end-to-end investment process for startups in India, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines, including sourcing, due diligence, mentoring entrepreneurs, and executing exits.
In the past 8 years, he made 38 investments in 24 seed and early stage startups, including Bukalapak, Kudo, Coda Payments, Docquity and Classplus.
His investment philosophy is to identify business potential via problem-oriented insights. He helps promising entrepreneurs grow in the global tech ecosystem and closely works together with them to tackle societal problems through innovative solutions.
At TRTL, he sits on the Investment Committee, as well as engaging stakeholders in an IR role. He also actively works on the building of a vibrant tech ecosystem through partnering with governmental institutes, research centres, universities and manufacturers across Asia.

Rakesh Chhabra
Rakesh is a Chartered Accountant with professional experience spanning 35 years across various industries. He is the Co-Founder of AARC Partners, a boutique transaction advisory firm. Over his career, he has accumulated a huge network of startup founders, VC funds, corporates and innovators.
He has worked closely with many funds, angel networks, accelerators and incubators, helping them with India-focussed investments and sitting on the board of various venture-funded companies. In addition, he has managed the Indian desk for overseas funds and provided end-to-end support on transactions, structuring and fund management.
He is also an active angel investor and has invested in many startups throughout India, Singapore and the US, across diverse sectors like AI/ ML, Consumer Tech and FinTech.
At TRTL, he sits on the Investment Committee and leverages his extensive network to create deal flow in India and the US.

Akhil Bansal
Akhil currently leads the legal and transaction advisory practice of AARC Partners, with a special focus on the fund and startup ecosystem. Previously, he had roles in Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Co, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the venture capital division of Themis Associates.
He has been working with offshore and onshore VC funds in various transaction structuring, valuation and diligence assignments, including offshore restructuring, JV Setup, business carve outs, business spin offs and finalization of definitives and related collaterals. Apart from VCs, he is associated with many other funds, angel networks, accelerators and incubators, helping them with specific focus on investments in India. He also acts as an advisor to family offices and larger corporate groups and has been instrumental in enabling partnerships between corporates and startups.
At TRTL, he is a deal structurer and evaluator to optimise investing. He strategises and advises deals tapping his deep experience, and supports the global positioning of the company through his vast network.

Shaojie Chen
Shaojie graduated with a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He specialised in Risk Management and Insurance and had completed multiple internships prior to joining TRTL. Highlights of his internships include being in the Global Subsidiary Banking team at MUFG and the Transaction Banking team at United Overseas Bank (UOB). He has also worked together with PSA International on strategic plans as a student consultant while in school.
He is no stranger to the startup world, having been one of the first few interns at the Singaporean logistics startup Park N Parcel, helping them to scale in his business development capacity. He has also assisted an Indian restaurant group in different acquisition projects and their expansion into different verticals.
At TRTL, he supports deal sourcing and due diligence, along with other strategic initiatives to build TRTL’s ecosystem.

Jun Maruyama
Jun Maruyama is an experienced engineer, angel investor and builder of businesses in Japan. He previously ran Nijibox, a creative agency part of the Recruit Holdings Inc group of companies. At Nijibox, Jun provided comprehensive, data-driven UX solutions to both domestic and global clients for numerous major design projects. In addition to his endeavours at Recruit, he also played a pivotal role in helping renowned global tech unicorns and major players launch into the Japan market.
At TRTL, Jun leverages his extensive experience to assist our portfolio companies expand into the Japanese market by constructing robust ecosystems and localising their Product-Market Fit (PMF).
